Theme of the Year: LIMINAL SPACE
Embracing the Space in Between
At the start of each year, I choose a word or a theme to guide me in the year ahead. “Liminal Space” is my chosen theme for 2025, as I dance with the “messy middle” and the uncertainty that comes with continuous change. It’s an invitation to get comfortable with what makes me most uncomfortable: not being in control!
In support of a year of “Liminal Space,” I decided to stick with 2024’s ways of being in the world- they really resonate with my values and deeper purpose!
1. Compassionate: Cultivate compassion by working to understand and empathize with the experiences and feelings of others. Leading with love and a genuine desire to “see and support” the people around me.
2. Connected: Cultivate connection by building and maintaining strong relationships with myself and the people around me. Cultivate connections in my communities. Showing up present, open, and curious. Following up by being trustworthy, dependable, and thoughtful.
3. Courageous: Cultivate courage by putting myself “out there” and being “wholeheartedly me,” even when it feels uncomfortable. Engage in hard, heartfelt conversations. Take more risks and stretch myself with confidence and charisma.
4. Centered: Cultivate centeredness by maintaining a sense of balance and calm, even in the midst of stressful situations. Focus on my wellbeing and prioritize self-care. Practice deep breathing, mindfulness, prayer, and journaling as tools to return to my calm, centered self.
5. Creative: Cultivate creativity by embracing a learner’s mind: open, expansive, abundant, and infinite. Experiment with new perspectives. Let the juices flow as I continue to expand my business, build connections and communities, and elevate my visibility. Surround myself with natural beauty and color.
